Billing & Practice Updates

Dear SGFP Members,

Fall is off to a busy start. Between clinic, flu season on the horizon and everything else on your plate, I know your inbox is full, so I'm keeping this week's letter short and light.

Billing continues to be one of the topics you raise with us most often, through SGFP On-Call, at our town halls and in your emails. We've heard you, and I'm glad to share a few updates to support you with billing and your practice.

Let's Talk Billing: Next Session October 20 – 12:00-1:00 PM

Our next Let's Talk Billing session takes place October 20 from 12:00-1:00 PM. These sessions, hosted by SGFP’s Dr. Ryan Banach and Dr. Salesh Budhoo and supported by OMA, are open to all practice models and all billing questions. They've become some of our best-attended member events. Thank you to everyone who has joined the previous sessions (which you can view here) and brought such great questions. Register in advance.

Billing Guide: Effective April 2026

If you haven't had a chance yet to get to our website, the SGFP Billing Guide effective April 2026, is available on the SGFP website. It's a practical reference and a handy one to keep bookmarked. Access the guide here.

More to Come

Stay tuned, over the next few weeks, we'll be announcing more Let's Talk Billing dates running through 2027, along with additional tools to support you with your billing. Keep an eye on upcoming letters.

Updated FHO Contracts

FHO leads should now have received a copy of the updated FHO contract, signed by the FHO lead, the OMA and the Ministry of Health. If you haven't received your copy, please contact PrimaryCareInquiries@ontario.ca and the Ministry will send you a replacement.

As always, thank you for everything you do for your patients and communities, and for staying connected with SGFP.

Warm Regards,

Dr. Dave Barber, Chair, SGFP
