FHO Acuity Payment Error & FHO+ Implementation

Dear SGFP members,

Today, I want to update you on a couple of items related to the FHO payment model.

FHO Acuity Payment Error

Many of you will have noticed an error with the acuity payment on the November RA. This issue was unexpected, and the Ministry of Health is currently working to determine the cause and identify a fix. The OMA has let us know they are in contact with the Ministry and will share details as soon as they are available.

FHO+ Implementation

The implementation of FHO+ represents a significant change, and we recognize the impact this will have on your billing processes and daily workflows.

Last week, more than 1,300 of you joined an SGFP-OMA hosted FHO+ billing webinar to hear directly from our SGFP Tariff Team. This was one of the most highly attended events ever hosted at the OMA, underscoring the importance of this transition. If you were unable to attend, a recording is available on OMA Learns.

Several areas of concern were raised during the session and continue to be discussed. Two key issues are the patient attachment bonus and the continuity of care measure. Put simply, we don’t yet have clarity as the parties are still discussing certain implementation details around these items.

We know that April is rapidly approaching. The scale of planning required and the impact on your income and, in many cases, your clinic teams, means that uncertainty is not acceptable. We will continue pressing for timely answers and share updates as soon as they are available.

In the meantime, the SGFP and OMA are continuing to update the FHO+ information page on the OMA website. We remain committed to keeping you informed and advocating for the clarity you need to navigate these changes with confidence.

Warm regards,

Dr. Dave Barber

Chair, SGFP
