The Executive: SGFP Notice of Nominations

Dear colleagues,

We are writing to inform you that nominations are now open for positions on the Section on General and Family Practice (SGFP) executive.

This is an opportunity to utilize your expertise and governance skills to advance the strategic needs of your constituency group. We strongly encourage you to apply. Your voice and ideas can contribute meaningfully to major strategy and policy decisions for the profession.

The OMA is currently accepting nominations for the following vacant positions on our section executive:

• 2 Members at Large (2-year term)

Refer to the SGFP website for a detailed expectation of the time commitment involved in this role. Briefly, being on the SGFP executive requires:

• Attending 2-day in-person meetings about once every 6-8 weeks, usually in Toronto.
• Intermittent communication and committee work.
• Attending OMA PLG in the spring and OMA GA in the fall.
• Overall, this amounts to approximately ~16-20 hours of work per month

Following the close of nominations, nominees will be contacted by the current SGFP executive and asked to submit a short video to support their candidacy. Videos will be posted to the SGFP website and circulated to voters in a future chair’s letter. Videos will be due Dec. 28, 2025. More details regarding the content of the videos will follow once nominations are closed.
