Patient Attachment Bonus
We’ve heard that many of you have questions about the new patient attachment bonus that will be available to family physicians in all patient enrolment models (PEM).
The OMA and the Ministry are working through the implementation details of the attachment codes and will provide details as soon as possible, including when the new codes will be live and how submission of claims will work, both on a go-forward and retroactive basis.
We recognize that claims for patients attached on or after July 1 may be stale dated at this time and this is high priority for the OMA in discussion with the Ministry to ensure that physicians are paid what they are due. In the meantime, when enrolling eligible new patients, use the appropriate enrollment code (e.g., Q200).
Please note, if you are accepting complex patients off of Health Care Connect, the Q053 for attaching these patients can currently be billed. The fee value for Q053 will be retroactively increased to $500 when the system is able.
OntarioMD needs your input! What would bring you to our Digital Health Conference?
OntarioMD’s Digital Health Conference provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn how to save time and reduce your administrative burden through technology. We’d love your input to help us plan future conferences that bring meaningful value to your practice. Please complete the short survey (3 min.) to send us your feedback. In appreciation of your time, OntarioMD is offering a $20 gift card to the first 200 physicians to complete the survey. You will also be entered into a draw to win a complimentary pass to next year’s conference on Oct. 1 and 2 in Toronto.
FHO, FHN Lump-Sum Acuity Payments on December RA
All FHO and FHN physicians received a lump-sum for their acuity payments for the FY2024/25 year. Those physicians that started prior to April 1, 2023 received this payment on their May 2024 RA, those that started after April 1, 2023, on their November 2025 RA. This lump-sum payment is also eligible for the 2021 Year 3 and 2024 Year compounded increase of 13.0286%. We’ve been notified by the OMA that this this one-time payment for the entire fiscal year 2024-25 acuity payments will appear under the accounting transaction ‘Year 1 (2024-2025) Compensation Increase’ on your December 2025 RA. Please see the following INFOBulletin for more information.
Acuity Payment Error
We’ve been notified by the OMA that the Ministry has corrected the Acuity Payment error from the November RA. As you’ll recall your November 2025 RA had a negative acuity adjustment. The Ministry has fixed the issue and the entire recovered amount will appear and be paid on your December 2025 RA under the accounting transaction ‘Network Base Rate Acuity Modifier Adjustment’. The Ministry will also be posting an INFOBulletin with these details and we will share once posted.
Holiday Billing
In case you missed it on Wednesday, the OMA distributed its letter with billing instructions for the holiday season. You can find it on the SGFP website.
Warm regards,
Dr. Dave Barber
Chair, SGFP
