SGFP & OMA Elections: Voting Opens Monday

Dear SGFP members,

Your voice matters. Voting opens Monday for both the 2026 SGFP executive committee election and OMA board election. These decisions shape the direction of family medicine in Ontario, both within our section and across the broader OMA governance table.

The strength of SGFP has always come from its member-driven leadership. Your participation in selecting the next executive committee ensures strong, informed representation for our section. At the same time, the OMA board election is an important opportunity to understand how candidates plan to advocate for family medicine. We encourage you to review platforms carefully so you can assess how each candidate’s priorities align with the needs of family physicians and the patients we serve.

Pediatric Care Needs Assessment – Invitation to Participate

Family doctors and researchers at the University of Ottawa are developing an intervention to improve office efficiency and reduce the family doctor workload involved in caring for infants and children. The objectives are to improve family doctors’ work satisfaction and their sense of capacity to care for this population.

To ensure it targets the pediatric visits that create the greatest burden in family practice, they invite you to complete a brief Needs Assessment survey. Your input will directly shape the intervention’s focus.
