Our Annual Issue: Meet your 2026-27 SGFP Executive
Dear SGFP Members,
Behind every letter, survey, and advocacy meeting is a team of practising family physicians who understand the pressures you face because they face them too.
This has been another full year. To name just a few highlights, your Executive pressed for safer FIT results delivery, brought your feedback on the Primary Care Medical Record directly to the Ministry and Ontario Health, and put forward four of the six ideas shortlisted at the OMA's Priority and Leadership Group meeting. Closer to home, we met one-on-one with members through SGFP On-Call, answered dozens of your individual letters, and, with support from the OMA, delivered almost monthly Let's Talk Billing sessions open to all practice models. These are just a few examples, and each was shaped by what you told us.
To help you get to know them, members of our Governance Executive have recorded 60-120 second videos sharing their background, what drives them, and the importance of member engagement.

These leaders bring a wide range of experience, from rural and urban practice to tariff, policy, digital health, and governance. What unites them is a shared commitment to making family medicine sustainable for physicians and better for patients. Your constituency fee directly supports this work, and we are grateful to every member who contributes.
If there's something you'd like your Executive to hear, you can always reach us at ChairLetterSGFP@outlook.com.
Warm Regards,
Dr. Dave Barber, Chair, SGFP
